Veronica M. Brooks was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, although she considers Jacksonville, Florida, as her home station, after living there for over 20 years. She completed an Associate of Arts degree in Political Science from Florida State College, a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and a dual master’s degree in Business Administration Management and Human Resource Management, and Doctorate degree in Humanities & Social Science.
Back in 2000, she received an appointment to the Department of Defense. She served as the Supervisory Contracting Officer at Naval Air Facility, Atsugi, Japan. In addition, she served on the Integrated Product Team as an Acquisition Contracting Specialist for a variety of regions throughout the United States. She also served as an Equal Employment Opportunity Representative for the Federal Government Department of Defense.
Her previous assignments include: The Fleet Industrial Supply Command (FISC) Naval Regional Contracting Center in Manama, Bahrain, which included contacts that are essential to meet Central Command (CENTCOM) requirements all throughout the Middle East, Southwest Asia, East Africa, the Indian subcontinent, and Department of Defense (DoD) activities in the United States. She was also a Resident Officer in Charge of Construction (ROICC) and Integrated Product Team (IPT) at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida, Secretary for the Naval Air Depot in Jacksonville, Florida, and The Department of Dependent Schools (DoDDs) Office Automation Assistant in Zama American High Schools, located in Japan.
Veronica is Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III certified. Being true to her calling, she is an active member of the National Association of Professional Women, JAX Chamber of Commerce, American Chamber of Commerce Japan, For Empowering Women Japan (FEW), National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and the African American Federal Executive Association (AAFEA). For the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, she serves in the capacities of leadership, economic empowerment, and policies (San Antiono, Texas Chapter). Veronica is also the Voluntary Leader of non-profit organizations, which are geared towards mentoring women and their families.
Her personal decorations include being featured on the Ona Brown Own your Dreams Radio Broadcast 2014. She is Les Brown’s Platinum Speaker which Les Brown is one of the top motivational speakers in the world. Featured in the prestigious premier publication, People You Need to Know Magazine ~ 2013 Edition. Special Guest Feature at the Live Event, Circle of Sisters of over 40,000 people in attendance in 2013. Recognized with the Honors of National Association of Professional Women, 2013-2014 for Outstanding Excellence and Dedication to Her Profession and the Achievement of Women. Presidential/Congressional Recognition Award for Business Woman of the Year for 2006. She was published in the Wall Street Journal for Businesswomen of the Year Award in 2006. In addition, she was published in the Wall Street Journal for the Outstanding Leadership Award of Business Advisory Council in November of 2006. Veronica has also obtained six Special Act Awards of outstanding performance in her position duties.
Veronica M. Brooks is an international speaker, motivator, bestselling author, and coach. She began her speaking journey in 1997 for Non-profit organizations.
